Addisons advises SunRice on its ASX listing
Date : 09 April 2019
Type : News

Addisons’ long term relationship with SunRice has culminated in the firm advising SunRice on its recent ASX listing.

Partner Li-Jean Chew says “We are pleased to have worked closely with our client to achieve this result and be part of this historic event.”

Addisons’ corporate team has recently advised on many large Agriculture and FMCG transactions including:

  • The Coca-Cola Company on its 2018 acquisition of 100% of the shares in the Organic & Raw Group of companies and its acquisition, together with its local bottler Coca-Cola Amatil, of a 45% equity stake in the Made Group.
  • Macquarie agricultural funds’ acquisitions of a national portfolio of farm assets from the Qatar Investment Authority, the largest Australian agricultural deal since 2016.
  • Bega Cheese’s major corporate and capital markets transactions including its ASX listing in 2011 and initial public offering (IPO), its $460 million purchase of Mondelez’s Australian and New Zealand grocery and cheese business (including Vegemite) and its $250 million acquisition of the Koroit dairy processing facility from Saputo.
  • The Moxey family on the sale of one of the largest single site dairies in Australia to a consortium which included an Australian listed company and a Chinese dairy group.

Addisons, a 141 year old law firm, is commonly referred to as ‘punching above its weight’. In a time of significant structural change in the legal profession in Australia, when many firms are growing through mergers and international alliances, Addisons has focused upon quality rather than quantity. Addisons presents a different model; a model which has proven attractive to large international brand names as well as iconic Australian companies. Its long term relationships with its clients provide a trusted environment.
