Karen has expertise in all facets of litigation and dispute resolution, and is admitted to practise in Victoria and New South Wales, having worked extensively in both jurisdictions.
Her practice covers a wide range of commercial litigation, including a particular focus on Part IV Restrictive Trade Practices and contentious intellectual property matters, as well as general commercial disputes.
Karen also maintains a specific trade marks practice (both contentious and non-contentious) which involves her in maintaining the integrity of the trade marks of one of the world's most well-known brands. In addition, Karen represents various local and international brands, and provides advice concerning their trade marks portfolios, intellectual property strategies and brand protection issues.
In addition, Karen plays an active role in intellectual property issues in Australia and abroad, is a member of the New South Wales Committee of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ) and a Committee Member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) in the United States.
Karen was with the firm Norton Smith & Co and subsequently the international firm, Coudert Brothers, following its merger with Norton Smith & Co in 1999. Karen worked for various periods in the Melbourne, Sydney and London offices, and became a partner of Coudert Brothers in January 2004.
In April 2005, Karen became a Partner in Addisons, bringing with her an intellectual property and trade marks team.
