Philip is regarded as a pre-eminent practitioner in commercial litigation and in insolvency in particular. He has acted in a number of very high profile matters including acting for the administrators of the Patrick group of companies, the secured creditor of the National Textiles Group, the insider trading trial of Simon Hannes, and for Hambros Bank in defence of very significant litigation brought by the liquidator of the Duke Group Limited.
Philip has extensive experience in corporate litigation including shareholder disputation, security enforcement and revenue litigation including against the Australian Customs Service. He works for numerous banks and financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, corporations, company directors (including public company directors), professional advisors and creditors in large insolvency administrations. Philip brings a wealth of experience to all commercial litigation in which he undertakes. Philip is presently on the legal committee of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Insolvency and Reconstruction Committee of the Law Council of Australia. He writes and lectures extensively. He is a graduate of the Harvard Program of Instruction for lawyers.
Philip was admitted in 1979, had been a partner in large national legal firms since 1984, and joined Addisons as a Partner in October 2006.
