Addisons' Summer Clerkship Program
Addisons is pleased to again offer its own Summer Clerkship Program in 2011, outside of the Universities’ Summer Clerkship Scheme. This Program commenced in 2007 and has enabled the firm to tailor the Clerkship to suit its distinct firm offering and positioning. Summer Clerkships will run from approximately Monday, 28 November 2011 until Friday, 3 February 2012. However, there is flexibility to arrange alternative timetables to suit your needs.
The Addisons Approach: To get to know you as a person and not just your legal skills. The firm’s approach is therefore to limit the number of Summer Clerkships it offers. This approach allows Addisons to give you a better Summer Clerkship experience and also provides you with the best opportunity to continue your legal career with Addisons, as a paralegal and as a graduate. The firm wants your Addisons’ Summer Clerkship to be rewarding and enjoyable.
You will have the opportunity to work in at least 2 of the following key practice areas – Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions; Commercial Property; Insolvency; Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property/e-Commerce. As the Addisons’ approach is very team oriented – during your Clerkship you will also gain a practical insight into all of the firm’s key practice areas, in which you may not get an opportunity to work.
Addisons’ aim is to give you exposure in your Clerkship to the “real life” of graduate lawyers and to provide you with an insight into all facets of the work they regularly conduct. You will not be hidden away in any back office. You will work on varied, complex and interesting matters and be encouraged to have direct interaction with partners, lawyers and clients.
